BIOGRAPHY

My name is Richard and I have been a Southampton resident for over 40 years. I have a passion for dance music and regularly listened to Power FM's Soul Blue/The Beat dance show during late 80s-mid 90s as well as Pete Tong's Essential Selection during the early-late 90s. I regularly bought CD/records weekly from stores like HMV, Virgin Megastore, Our Price and Tower Records (the latter three are no longer with us). 

Since the mid 90s, I've also been buying music from various charity, pawn and pre-owned record stores around Southampton including the sadly departed Weasel Records and the still going strong Oxfam Music in Southampton. I like to do a mixture of lesser known pop and dance records on my Drivetime Show along with the occasional novelty record. I also like talking about the records I play so listeners can understand my connection to them.
